Overview and Recent Updates to Mandatory eFiling and eService with the Minnesota District Courts

DESCRIPTION: Join us for an overview on mandatory eFiling and eService with the Minnesota District Courts with the focus on eFiling for probate, trust and guardianship proceedings. Representatives from the Minnesota Judicial Branch Business Education Unit and Legal Counsel Division will provide information on the recent updates to the eFS system. Information covered will also include a review of the Registered User Filing Guide and offer tips on how to most successfully file your documents. Time will be provided for an interactive Q&A.

SPEAKERS: Patrick Busch, Staff Attorney, Legal Counsel Division, SCAO. Patrick started working for the Judicial Branch as a district court law clerk in 2012 and transitioned to State Court Administration in 2014. His work with eCourt includes working with filers, court staff, and business processes to help all three follow the laws. He is a 2011 graduate of Washington University in St. Louis School of Law.

Kimberly Black, Training Specialist, Court Services Division, SCAO. Kimberly joined the State Court Administrator’s Office in October 2014 as a Training and Development Specialist focusing on eCourtMN projects, including New Minnesota Government Access (New MGA) and eFile and eServe (eFS). Kimberly has 10 years systems training experience and worked previously for a privately owned company as a Training Specialist. With the Judicial Branch Kimberly helps organize and develop training curriculum and also works on variety of computer skills courses and other education projects.
