Speaker: April Begordis, CPA and Nicole LaChance, Revenue Tax Specialists
April Begordis, CPA, is a Revenue Tax Specialist Principal and has been with the Minnesota Department of Revenue for 8 1/2 years. April is a policy lead for the Corporate Franchise Tax Division. As a part of this position she acts as the technical advisor, contributes to the legislative process, coordinates forms updates, monitors tax court cases, and establishes policy positions for the division. Previously, April was the lead auditor for estate tax, fiduciary income tax, and corporate nexus for 7 years.
April received her BA in Public Accounting from Gustavus Adolphus College. April obtained her CPA in spring of 2011. April is a member of the Minnesota Society of CPAs and the AICPA.
Nicole LaChance is a Revenue Tax Specialist Senior and has been with the Minnesota Department of Revenue for 6 years. Nicole has been in the fiduciary and estate tax unit for 1 year. She reviews and audits estate and fiduciary income tax returns, trains new auditors, educates internal and external clients in interpreting tax code and updates fiduciary tax forms & instructions. Prior to her employment with the Department of Revenue, she worked for Anoka Technical College for 5 years in the accounting and financial aid departments.
Nicole received her BS in Business Administration from Metropolitan State University in 2008.
