Topic: Probate Litigation Lessons for Real Estate Lawyers/Paralegals
Real estate transactions may be subject to challenge in probate court both before and after the (former) owner’s death by the owner’s spouse, children, conservator, devisees, beneficiaries, creditors, or other interested parties. This session will discuss real estate pitfalls, procedures, and available remedies in probate, trust, guardianship/conservatorship, and related proceedings.
Emily Valentine-Grimm practices in the areas of probate and trust disputes, fiduciary litigation, contested guardianships/conservatorships, and financial exploitation of vulnerable adults at the office of Mason & Helmers.
Ms.Valentine-Grimm earned her B.A. degree in Sociology with a focus on law from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and her J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. She clerked for the Honorable Thomas M. Neuville in Rice County District Court. She is admitted to practice in Minnesota. Ms. Valentine-Grimm is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Ramsey County Bar Association. She is also currently serving as a board member for 826 MSP.
