Topic: Trafficking, Sexual Exploitation and Safe Harbor - What you need to know

Andrea White, Regional Navigator for Southeastern Minnesota, will discuss Minnesota's Safe Harbor program. Participants will gain awareness of the prevalence of sexual exploitation in Minnesota and will be provided with a risk assessment tool to learn how to identify people at-risk for exploitation or trafficking. Andrea will also discuss Minnesota's Safe Harbor law and understand that its purpose is to protect and support victims and survivors of trafficking and exploitation, and the resources available under Minnesota's Safe Harbor law.

Speaker: Andrea White

Andrea White is the Regional Navigator for Southeastern MN and is housed within the Southeastern Safe Harbor Regional Office located within Victim Services in Dodge, Fillmore and Olmsted Counties. Previously, Andrea has worked in Social Services both in Children’s Mental Health case management and Child Welfare. Additionally, Andrea has worked as an advocate in various sexual assault agencies across Minnesota. In Andrea’s previous position as Safe Harbor Specialist she served clients that experienced or were at risk of exploitation and sex trafficking. Andrea has experience facilitating training across Southeastern Minnesota for providers and community members on Safe Harbor, sex trafficking, and exploitation and is delighted to continue this work within her position as Regional Navigator.
