Topic: At the Crossroads: Human Trafficking, the Transportation Industry, and COVID-19
Angela Forsyth, Associate Legal Counsel in the Minnesota Department of Transportation's Office of Chief Counsel, will be speaking about human trafficking, the transportation industry and COVID-19.
Speaker: Angela B. Forsythe, J.D.
Angela Forsythe serves as Associate Legal Counsel in the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s Office of Chief Counsel. In addition to providing MnDOT legal advice on topic areas including information technology, intellectual property, rail law, and land usage, Angela developed and manages MnDOT’s human trafficking awareness initiative. Through MnDOT’s initiative, Angela provides training on defining, recognizing, and reporting human trafficking, mentors state and national transportation entities on the development of anti-trafficking curriculum, and collaborates with public and private anti-trafficking organizations to combat human trafficking worldwide.
Prior to joining MnDOT, Angela practiced criminal law, civil municipal law, and real estate in both the private and public sectors, in addition to teaching college courses on media law, argumentation, and criminal deviance. Angela holds a Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in St. Paul, MN and Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and Criminal Justice from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN.
