Topic: Anti-Forensics: How Your Departing Employees Are Removing Company Data And Trying To Hide Their Tracks
Every time an employee leaves a company, there is a possibility that they take data with them or leave their company data inaccessible. This can be done intentionally and sometimes, the former employee will take actions to conceal evidence of their activities. During “Employee Departure Program” investigations, or EDPs, we investigate and analyze computer artifacts that can assist with giving a high level overview of the employee’s data access during their last couple months of employment. In this section, we discuss how digital forensic artifacts, such as shell bags and anti-forensic tools, can be useful in investigations where data theft might be a possibility.
