Topic:  MPA Duluth Chapter Meeting - Family Law Updates

Updates in Family Law for 2021. The presentation will be on new laws, policies or procedures for 2021.

Speaker: Katrina M. Viegas

Katrina M. Viegas is a family law attorney who is licensed to practice in Minnesota and Wisconsin. She began her career in biology and environmental science, then went to the University of St.Thomas School of Law (Minneapolis) to pursue her interests in law and policy. In March 2012, Katrina joined the law firm of Gerlach Beaumier & Trogdon (Duluth), and in February 2019 became a partner of Beaumier Trogdon Orman Hurd & Viegas. Katrina’s practice focuses on Minnesota and Wisconsin family law, primarily divorce, paternity, child protection, third party custody, orders for protection and harassment restraining orders. She also has done some work with family law appellate cases, one of which was featured during a breakout session during the 2020 Family Law Institute. She also serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for her local Girl Scouts Council, Minnesota and Wisconsin Lakes and Pines. Currently, Katrina is also honored to be participating in the 2021 Minnesota Women Lawyers Leadership Institute.
